Character Traits:

Awkward - Jude finds it very hard to keep up a conversation, especially if it's with someone she doesn't care for. She can tend to stutter when nervous, which is quite often, and her nails have been bitten down to the very edges. Due to the lack of emotional support and affection growing up, she also displays characteristics of alexithymia(Unable to display her feelings).

Shy - Due to her circumstances growing up, Jude has a very hard time being around others, especially strangers. She tends to keep her mouth shut and only speak when spoken to while avoiding eye contact at all costs.

Misanthropic - Because of how she had been treated by others while growing up, she has learned to hate and distrust her fellow man.

Bitter - More than anyone, she is angry at herself for driving the only person in the world she had into killing herself.

Lonely - Though she pushes others away and tries her best to keep an emotional distance from everyone, she is still a little girl and desperately yearns for love and affection.


Background:
Born to a Korean mother and an American father, Jude always had a hard time growing up because of this. What made it worse for her was that her parents had divorced when she was three and her brother, five years her senior, went to America with her somewhat poor father while Jude stayed with her well off mother in Korea.

Children would constantly tease her for her foreign name and her single mother, as well as her somewhat Caucasian features such as double eyelids. To make matters even worse, Jude’s mother began to display symptoms of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, often taking her frustrations and confusion out on her daughter in the process.

As time passed, Jude began to grow hatred for everyone around her, especially her mentally disturbed mother. Bullied at both school and home, the young girl felt as though she were trapped and the world was collapsing atop of her. Desperate for a way out, Jude told her teacher about her mother and soon enough, the police arrived at their doorstep to have her mother arrested for child abuse. After thorough investigation, she was found to exhibit signs of psychosis and unfit to be a mother.

Sent into an institution, she stayed there for merely a couple weeks when Jude went to visit her. An argument broke out over small school issues, and the last thing Jude said to her before leaving was “I hate you. You’re not my mother and you never were, you miserable wretch”. Her psychotic mother was driven to a deep depression from these words and ended up hanging herself with a makeshift noose made from bed sheets.

After this, Jude, thinking she was to be sent to America to live with her father, heard the news that her father had passed away due to pancreatic cancer not long after he arrived in America several years ago. Her brother had been put up for adoption and was untraceable, and Jude found herself completely alone and still stuck in Korea. Being passed around between distant family members/friends, her mother’s money was taken from her as she was constantly treated like dirt and an unwelcome guest, causing her disdain for humanity to grow even more.

As she ran away from home as she often did one night, she was approached by a girl who offered her a second chance at the choice she deeply regretted making, which were the last words she ever spoke to her mother (That eventually drove her to suicide). Feeling as though there was nothing to lose, she took her offer and followed.

Anima name: Daesun

Element: Gravity

Ability:
Using the power of gravity, Daesun is able to lighten a weapon, allowing it to swing that much faster, and then suddenly weigh it down to apply that much more force to the strike.

Weapon:
Meteor Hammer - A double headed meteor hammer that is very light for Jude, as well as easily concealable. Jude is able to attack with it in various ways, usually by keeping the ball swinging using various methods. The weapon is able to wreak much destruction, especially when combined with Daesun's ability.

Other:
-Jude's father, a huge Beatles fan, named the young girl after the song Hey Jude

-Growing up, Jude, like most Korean children, was exposed to a plethora of after school extracurricular activities, one of which included self defense/martial arts class involving Shaolin kung fu's soft weapons.

-Daesun is based off of and named after Korean mythology's Sun and Moon creation story, in which a young girl and her elder brother are turned into the moon(sister) and sun(brother)

-Because of the complexity and difficulty of Jude's weapon, a single slip up while using it can cause injury to herself.

-Jude enjoys collecting all sorts of insects and small critters, though she usually ends up experimenting on all of them.
